Raven was the first person to jump into action and start chest compressions right away. That patient is still alive and doing well because of Raven’s quick action.
Raven has been an excellent addition to the OR team here at KSB. She is a bright light for patients when they are nervous/scared and she herself is a ball of positive energy. Since she has joined KSB, I have watched her light up the room anytime our team gets to work with her. Our residents feel comforted and accepted in the OR when she is our circulator, adding to a wonderful learning environment for our trainees. Most recently, there was a stressful and scary event with one of my patients in the operating room when he coded on the table. Raven was the first person to jump into action and start chest compressions right away. That patient is still alive and doing well because of Raven’s quick action. In addition, Raven came into the hospital the next day to check on him and speak to the patient’s wife. The patient’s wife expressed to me how much that meant to her. As a testament to the humble nature Raven possesses, the patient’s wife said, “I don’t know what role Raven played in the care for my husband, but it's amazing to know that a nurse that took care of him in the OR would come in to check on him.” I told her, Raven is a big reason your husband is still here today. I believe Raven is a DAISY Nurse because of how much she cares and how much she motivates and encourages others in this hospital.
