Coming to the hospital is not much fun but Mary Coen made it a positive experience for me. Mary was very professional, kind, and went the “extra mile” to make me comfortable. She met my physical needs with ice, Tylenol, and tlc. Her tetanus injection did not hurt. Thank you, Mary!

I came to the hospital with an oxygen rate of 82. I was very scared and confused. Mary put me at ease every step of the way. I had just been discharged from another hospital after having pleural effusion one day prior. They were doing test after test after test. Mary stayed by my side listening to my concerns and answering question after question that I had. She is an amazing nurse/person in general. She gave me a pulse-oximeter to calm my fear of going home and not knowing my oxygen count. I had an EKG, CT, heart ultrasound, and was told I was going to be admitted with an infection and pneumonia. So, as I lay in the room waiting to have more tests or scans before being brought upstairs, Mary brought me a puppy – a stuffed puppy and it kept my mind off all the bad that was going on for just a little while. The whole time I have been upstairs getting well, I have been thinking of this nurse.

From the moment Mary walked into the room I felt we were in good hands. I could tell Mary had a friendly demeanor and went about her duties with a caring hand. She listened with a thoughtful ear and performed her orders with care. After some tests, the news was not what we expected, and Mary continued to offer care and positive vibes.
