My wife was admitted in September with a cardiac issue and was in the ICU, at which time she was transferred to one of the regular floor units. While in the ICU, Max was one of the nurses caring for her.

It is evident SMC is careful to select their employees about personality as well as competence. This is especially true of their nursing and medical staff. All nursing personnel during my wife’s hospitalization were kind, patient, and helpful. Even among such a high-performing group, Max was conspicuously capable and had the respect of his colleagues, who recognized his ability, diligence, and concern for the patient and the patient's family.

We are aware Max wishes to continue with his clinical experience in the ICU for a time before returning to be trained as an anesthesiologist. We believe he deserves recognition for his care and skill as an ICU nurse, and we are confident that he will be an excellent anesthesiologist with uncommon concern, compassion, and skill.
