I am writing this letter of recommendation for Becky, a nurse in our Emergency Department. Becky has demonstrated exceptional care and compassion for our patients, especially in difficult situations. Her commitment to her patients is truly remarkable. I would like to highlight a specific example of Becky's extraordinary work. On a particularly busy day in the ER, Becky provided care for a patient who had been involved in a severe car accident that resulted in a fatality. The patient was understandably distraught and overwhelmed by the tragic news, but Becky went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and supported. Becky created a safe space for the patient where he could cry, scream, curse, or pray without any judgment or interruption. She made him feel like he was the only patient in the whole ER, even though it was a crazy busy day. She also took the initiative to call and get an update about the patient's father, who had been flown from the scene, and she had the staff call the priest to come and pray with the patient because he was Catholic.

Becky's kindness, empathy, and dedication to her patients are exceptional. Her commitment to providing personalized and compassionate care is truly inspiring. She is an asset to our Emergency Department and the nursing profession as a whole. I have worked in the ER for 21 years; Becky inspired me to be better and do better!
