He truly was there to be my nurse, to make a difference to help heal and make my experience a positive one
After my knee replacement, I had several nurses but the only two that stood out with interest in having any ability to help heal & comfort was Ben O dell.
I'm sure being so nervous I was trying the patience of the job. I didn't want to be a bother but when Mother Nature calls, and it did many times through Ben's shift. He had to undo my air booties and drag the I.V. I wasn't moving fast either he wasn't rushing, looking at his watch, he let me have my time. He got me safely back to bed which was neat every time I returned, over & over & over. Taking a lot of meds he went out of his way to get me crackers so I wasn't sick. Never once did he forget me or something I requested, and never once did he make me feel I was bothering him even when he got very busy. The few conversations we had he was interested and interesting. It took my mind off my pain. He truly was there to be my nurse, to make a difference to help heal and make my experience a positive one. Kudos to Ben O'Dell for showing up for work every day to truly make a difference in his patient's lives and not just to collect a paycheck.
