Michael’s compassion and understanding of people, in general, make him the most amazing nurse.
I had five separate trips to the emergency room back in 2023. (I’ve been meaning to fill out this DAISY Award for a few months.) Michael Sullivan went above and beyond to advocate for me to be admitted to the hospital. Doctors could not find anything wrong with me yet. I was in excruciating pain and could not stop vomiting for 12 straight days. Michael’s compassion and understanding of people, in general, make him the most amazing nurse.
On the last trip to the ER via ambulance, Michael saw me again. Not only did he advocate to the charge doctor that I needed to stay, but he also took the time to come in and just comfort me when he was off of his shift. I overheard a lot of patients who were super rude to him during an impending strike, and he always kept his composure and looked out for the best interest of his patients.
Thank you for everything you did to advocate for me. I get emotional writing this because you’re the only one who listened to me and didn’t make me feel like it was all in my head. Michael knew something was wrong with me. He kept me comfortable with pain meds when I needed them (he didn’t make me feel like a drug-seeking crazy person) and helped me go through every situation to try to figure out what was going on when doctors just wanted to write it off as a woman that had a stressful year.
