Courtney Buchanan was one of our nurses after our daughter was born. I felt connected to her right away. The journey of learning to breastfeed was super difficult and she jumped right in to encourage and help. My baby had to have multiple glucose tests and each time I could feel her rooting for us and silently hoping she would pass. When we didn’t pass one of her final tests Courtney made it her mission to help my baby get as much colostrum as possible to help balance her blood sugar for the next test. I never felt like my baby or I were just a job to her. I felt like we were cared for like family and she truly wanted the best for us. She immediately made my husband and I feel comfortable and we chatted about our kids and lives. It provided a good distraction during an emotional time. When my baby passed her final test I felt like she celebrated alongside us as she was truly invested by that point. I’m so glad she was one of our nurses during our stay and appreciate her going the extra mile to make us feel cared for.
