Yvonne is known to be an exceptional nurse. She demonstrates critical thinking skills and is eager to learn.

I was able to witness the caring and compassionate side of Yvonne. She was caring for a gentleman who underwent a routine procedure and was to be discharged following the procedure. However, this gentleman was having excessive postop bleeding, which was going to require extended overnight monitoring. This man became very concerned and upset that he would have to stay. In caring and listening to the patient, she learned that this man lived alone and had a dog he had rescued. This dog was his best friend and his life. Yvonne, too, has a great love for animals. She went above and beyond in making arrangements with her family to take care of his dog.

Yvonne coordinated with the patient and her son. Her son went to the patient's home, walked, fed the dog, and made sure the dog was safe and cared for the night. Yvonne kept the patient updated on his dog and reassured the patient that his best friend was fed and safe.

Knowing that his dog was taken care of, the gentleman immediately became relaxed and relieved. This allowed the patient to focus on his health and recovery.
Yvonne went above and beyond her duties as a nurse, caring for her patient as a whole. She not only attended to his physical needs but also attended to and cared for his emotional needs.

The patient was discharged the following morning to his best friend!
