Elise, from day one of our stay with my daughter in the NICU, was super personable and got to know my family to help make our time in the NICU comfortable and supportive. She would explain in as much detail as I wished regarding current or next steps. She would always make me feel comfortable and let us get involved in any way we could to help our daughter and build our parent/caregiving skills while she and the team did their work to help our daughter develop and build her ability to get well and come home. Anytime I was anxious she would notice without a word from me and offer help, give more information or just a few words of encouragement and reassurance. I always felt welcomed, no question was a silly one, and comforted that my daughter was in amazing hands. Elise was able to encourage me of the importance of being there to talk to or hold my baby, even when the postpartum emotions were irrational. Anyone who gets Elise will be in amazing hands. The NICU team at Aspirus Wausau is beyond words in their love, skills, compassion, and commitment to serving the tiniest and youngest of patients and their families. They are there to treat the newborns but the whole family is truly taken care of like VIPs (Very Important Patients). From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
