I was mentally and physically exhausted from giving birth. She stepped in, held my hands, and explained everything step by step.
My baby boy was 4 days old the first day this sweet soul laid eyes on him. I knew from that moment that Brandi was a gift from God and such a compassionate soul. My baby was born healthy at 7 pounds, and later, we were referred to Children's when he looked "unwell." Things happened very quickly when we were admitted. Brandi cared for our baby as well as us. She cares for all of her families this way. She gives you peace of mind even in hard situations. We experienced code events, genetic testing, being on a ventilator, and many tests and scans. When he was placed on ECMO, I was so scared. I was mentally and physically exhausted from giving birth. She stepped in, held my hands, and explained everything step by step. She encouraged me to talk to him, let him hear my voice, and reassure him that I was right by his side. This really made a difference. I felt as if he improved when he knew I was right there. Later, when we were moved to a rooming-in space, Brandi continued to be there for us. She was my saving grace. I will forever be thankful to her.

Note: This is Brandi's 2nd DAISY Award!
