Claudine went above and beyond what she had to do for my son, and I will never forget it.
My 23-year-old son was admitted for Rhabdomyolysis, acute renal failure, and acute liver failure caused by the Rhabdomyolysis. We were on a cruise when all of this occurred. My son was scared, had no idea what to expect, and did not have his parents there with him. Claudine made him feel safe and explained everything to him. She eased his worried mama’s mind as my husband and I worked to get home to our son. Claudine took great care of our son during his stay. Claudine stepped in to make him feel comfortable and safe. When he noticed his arms swelling with fluid, Claudine was prompt with her assessment. She notified the nephrologist, and a plan was initiated for hemodialysis. Claudine went above and beyond what she had to do for my son, and I will never forget it.

I know I’m not the easiest patient because of all my issues: diabetes, heart and kidney disease, foot wounds, and multiple myeloma. Claudine has gone over and above what I expected of a nurse. She is patient, kind, and compassionate, always looking out for my well-being. She is always there when needed, and you are very fortunate to have her on your team. She is fantastic! I have never had a more enjoyable experience visiting a friend or relative in the hospital. Claudine always had a smile and an attitude to match. Professional and friendly are a unique combination today. Thank you for being who you are.

I am a neuro patient of Claudine’s. This lady is wonderful. I was up and down in my recovery. I am not good at expressing my feelings or emotions on how I feel, but I cannot express enough the way Claudine has helped in my recovery. This lady is amazing. I honestly feel I would not have recovered as quickly as I have. This lady is a blessing. She brightens my day, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. May God bless her!

After arriving at GCMC’s ER, I found out less than 24 hours later that I would be having a cardiac Cath. As you can imagine, I was a bit nervous but also relieved that we would be “getting to the bottom of my problem.” After the Cath, I arrived on the cardiac floor and was greeted by Claudine, my nurse. Claudine has a huge smile, sparkling white teeth, and very cool blonde hair! Not only is she super cute, but her personality and love for her job are equally as fabulous. She made sure I was totally comfortable and got dinner (the first food I had in 24 hours). Did I say I was totally comfortable? She knew I needed some TLC and was there for me. Additionally, she really was my advocate for getting an MD to see me pre-discharge because I did not believe a PA would be able to answer all of my questions. She called the doctor, and he was in my room within an hour. Claudine is/was my advocate. Gulf Coast Medical Center is way too busy, but GCMC has a true gem with your cardiology nurse, Claudine!

The care I received from all three of these nurses was outstanding. They made me feel more like a friend – not just a patient. What I have been going through the past few months has been extremely scary, causing tremendous anxiety and stress. These ladies went above and beyond to ease my stress and anxiety, and the level of care I received from each of them, well, just makes my heart so full. They are the true meaning of what I consider a nurse to be – caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, personable, and just so good at what they do! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The world is a better place because of you! I hope this hospital recognizes the gems they have with you on their staff.
