My mother was admitted to the ICU after going through a tragic back surgery. My family and I were all scared, worried, and unsure of what would happen every day. Desiree was amazing and took the most amazing care of my mother while she was in the ICU. She went above and beyond every day and not only made my mom as comfortable as possible but also took extra time to make sure we were kept updated on her status at all times. Desiree made sure to call my dad every night before her shift ended to let him say good night and to give him one last update to help ease his worries. My mother was moved out of the ICU and into a regular room, and on Desiree’s next shift back, she made the trip to her new room to check on her and, again, went above her duties by talking with her current nurses to get her the help she needed. Desiree was a light at a very dark time, and I cannot express in words my gratitude to her for the comfort she brought us during this extremely difficult time. I tear up just thinking about what an amazing nurse she is, and I will forever be grateful for her.
