I am writing regarding a recent Broward Health Medical Visit. I was admitted to your hospital on Monday to the emergency- with a life-threatening infection after a foot surgery performed in Rhode Island in late 2023. I was treated and processed quickly and efficiently in the emergency room that morning. I was later admitted and released seven days later. Throughout my stay at your hospital, the care was excellent. Still, one nurse in particular, Alexa Gomez, went above and beyond what was expected and required, showing compassion and exceptional care for me as a patient suffering a life-threatening infection. She was confident and caring, followed through, and comforted me during difficult times. As a former Board of Trustee member of a large hospital, I know it's hard to deliver consistent top-notch care. I am glad to have received this on my recent visit. As a new Florida resident this year, I was happy to have this, too.
