She would take care of all his needs including that he was "clean". Although he felt embarrassed, she did this without any inhibition or as part of the job she was forced to do.
My 93 year old father was hospitalized the week of the 10th for 3 days. His experience was excellent. Everyone treated him with attentiveness and kindness. Although all the nurses and the other staff members did a great job, my father wanted to acknowledge Judy Tran for the following reasons:
1) She made him feel special. She would tell him that he was a good patient. This lifted up his spirits and believe he was on the road to recovery. This was a positive thing to say about his physical state.
2) She would take care of all his needs including that he was "clean". Although he felt embarrassed, she did this without any inhibition or as part of the job she was forced to do.
3) She was connected with him using the limited spanish she knew to communicate and develop a relationship. He appreciated it.
4) She was quick to understand "humor". She caught on and used it back. An easy going person who is easy to like and be around.
5) Make herself available telling him that it's not only part of her job but without words..that she felt an obligation.
Judy is a special person. She definitely needs to be recognized.
Thanks again for hiring a staff that cares. Kaiser is doing a great job with its patients. This is the first time he's been hospitalized in his life.
