My husband has been sick for so long. It took six months to be evaluated, and our Christmas present for 2023 was my husband being listed on the liver transplant list right before Christmas! His condition was so degraded, he thankfully had an elevated meld score, and we had the offer of a Liver three weeks later. We came to Mayo, and our nurse was Christian Brunski. He was an incredible asset to us as we waited in those late hours for our surgery time. Christian was reassuring, informed, and very professional. We asked so many questions, and Christian had answers! I can't tell you how comforting it was to have Christian prepare us for one of the most important days of our lives. He transitioned us into the Mayo culture, which is an amazing culture. We have never seen that leadership ability before. Thank you for having him on point to receive us.
