I had my first ever seizure on a random Saturday while out with friends. It was one of the most traumatic and scariest experiences not only for me, but the people I was with as well. Nurse Clara Langlois welcomed me to the Ortho/Neuro unit with angel’s arms and worked extremely hard to make sure I felt comfortable and safe. I had an episode and she sat by my side for nearly 45 minutes to make sure I was okay. Her kind heart and compassion made me feel at ease while I was in the hospital for days. She also noticed I was hot and sweaty and cut a pair of paper scrubs into shorts for me since I didn’t have any. She is one of the most selfless people I have come into contact with in my life. She was extremely patient with me and answered all our questions to the best of her knowledge and abilities. Every shift change, I looked forward to seeing Clara. Her positive energy and enthusiasm pushed me to want to continue to get better and be able to get up out of bed. She exceeded expectations and went above and beyond as a nurse.
