My son was really tiring out and I honestly believe Mr. Bang saved my son's life.
My son was transported to Choc from Hoag for his difficulty breathing. The last I heard from Hoag was that he needed to be on cpap or bipap. This somehow got lost in translation after transfer to ER at Choc. We were in the ER for 14 hours before we got a room. The hospital seemed overwhelmed since admission so I feel some things were slipping between the cracks. The first member of the staff noticed that my son was struggling to breath. This was about 21 hours after being admitted to Choc. He said he was struggling too much and the breathing treatments were not enough...he believed he needed to be in ICU and would benefit from cpap or bipap. The first member of staff and Timothy Bang were in agreement with this. They both worked together as well as charge nurse to get my son into ICU. Tim was persistent in his efforts. He did have to call a few times before anyone came to assess my son. After some back and forth my son was transferred to the ICU. My son was really tiring out and I honestly believe Mr. Bang saved my son's life. I hear so many times how things turn quickly with kids like my son. Time was not on our side and I so appreciate Mr. Bang for being so observant and persistent. I am grateful for those who are in Healthcare because they love people and truly care about making a difference. An award is really not enough for what compassionate Healthcare workers do but please honor this gentleman who gave incredible care to my son. Our family is truly grateful!
