From the moment we met her, Brandi showed us so much patience and grace while she watched us grieve
I would like to nominate Brandi G. for The DAISY Award. My 21-year-old niece took her own life with so much pain in her heart that it cast a far and wide net to those of us who loved her. What could have been the worst experience after the most unthinkable tragedy turned into a moment that would begin to heal our family.
From the moment we met her, Brandi showed us so much patience and grace while she watched us grieve in many ways. She treated our beautiful loved one with so much humanity and dignity. She hugged my sister in her arms while my sister watched her child slip away. Brandi continued to care for my niece, my sister, and everyone in our family, all the while carrying the gigantic burden of her own experience with a situation nearly identical to her personal life. That type of selflessness will stay in our hearts forever.
We are grateful more than words can express. “Thank you, Brandi.”
