Having had and/or currently having prostate and bladder concerns, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, diabetes, 2 triple bypasses and stents, and a pacemaker installed. I am very familiar with the VA health care system and its personnel, both the dedicated ones and those who treat their positions as just another job. 

Early one morning, I had occasion to go to the ED after experiencing shortness of breath and dizziness; I was placed in observation, where I came in contact with Nurse Milca. 

To say I was impressed with Nurse Milca is an understatement. She is a true professional dedicated to the care and well-being of her patients. She has a pleasant demeanor and personality that enables her to establish an immediate rapport and trust with patients. Nurse Milca is highly knowledgeable and deals with all aspects of patient care, from IV insertions to fully explaining the what and why of any medications or tests given. Her actions are timely, and if she says I'll be back shortly", you can bet she will be back.  

For somebody to motivate me to go beyond a mere "Thank you" speaks volumes about how impressed I was with nurse Milca's outstanding performance and caring attitude. She exemplifies the personal and professional standards that all should strive for.
