Laurice went out of her way to double check meds, encourage improvement of health, and all along, listening to the needs and encouraging my stepmother. She was patient with my father, who is extremely hearing impaired. During my stepmother’s stay, she received hard news about her health, and my aunt had a massive heart attack with a grim prognosis. My dad, uncle, and aunt have been together since high school. Knowing it was important for my stepmother, Laurice went above and beyond arranging what was, in all likelihood, their last visit. She even stayed with us right up to transport. Knowing you are not returning home after a hospital stay is hard, but Laurice was a ray of hope while remaining professional and honest. I found compassion in the care of an excellent RN.
