I am in tears writing this. Nurse Shannon was caring for my friend John in the ICU department. Nurse Shannon spent most of the day on Wednesday praying over him, stroking his arm, and singing hymns for him. Whoever heard of a nurse singing hymns to a patient? I never have. She did the same thing with John while I was there with him also. That was fantastic because John's family wasn't good at dealing with death, so they only visited with him about 1 hour a day. That night Shannon and I were in his room, we talked to him, about him, and included him. We both kind of joked with John that he needed a haircut and a shave so that he would look good when he met Janet (His deceased Wife) again in Heaven. I was told by Shannon on Wednesday that I could bring Rusty (my Dog and John's Buddy) in to see John as long as all of his vaccines were up to date. I did just that. I brought Rusty into the ICU. Nurse Shannon, I believe was truly an Angel in a nurse’s uniform. Not only was she a comfort to John, she was an absolute comfort and peace provider to me. She truly is an Angel!
