Tracey Henson has gone above and beyond for one of our residents who passed away while on the Blue Butterfly program. She went and picked up the family on several occasions when the family did not have a ride to sit with their loved one, she also set up an UBER ride app that she and I shared the expense to make sure the family had a ride to come and be with the resident. The day the resident passed away, she had been making rounds and noticed a change in the resident’s breathing pattern and called for the family who did not answer. She asked permission to go get the patient's family in order for them to be present during the last hours of his life. This act of compassion was monumental for the resident and family to ensure that the resident did not pass without his beloved significant other, this allowed her to have a sense of closure being with him when he took his last breath. Many of the staff spoke highly of the compassionate spirit that Tracey willingly initiated throughout this entire Blue Butterfly experience.
