I went to the Evangelical Emergency Department to be seen for post-surgical complications. I was in extreme pain and had swelling in my leg. I was fortunate enough to have had Dana Breon as my Nurse. Dana was very kind, comforting and compassionate. Dana stayed with me as much as she could even though she had other patients. She made me feel like I was the only patient in the entire Emergency Department. she would talk me through the pain and was a staunch advocate to assist me to get the proper pain relief needed. She was very patient with me and took the time to explain every step throughout the visit and would frequently update with test results. The night of my visit I ended up being admitted. Dana was very reassuring and positive during the admission process. A week later, I had to return to the Evangelical Emergency Department again for post-surgical complications. As fate would have it, my Nurse again was Dana Breon. Dana again was very caring and compassionate. On one occasion during my visit Dana had to attend to the patient in the room next to the room that I was in. I could hear the patient who was yelling very loudly at her. The patient was very verbally aggressive and demeaning to her. Neither Dana nor any other Nurses should endure such attacks when they are doing a very stellar job of caring for their patients. After Dana was finished in that patient's room she returned to my room and did not miss a beat. She was just as caring and compassionate. Dana displays the utmost care and professionalism for her patients. I very much dislike needles. During my visit I received several needles and Dana did an excellent job keeping me calm and talking me through the process. I was again admitted during this visit also and even after being admitted, Dana continued to check on me through my wife. Her professionalism speaks volumes for her character. Dana is an asset to the Evangelical Community Hospital.
