She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, well taken care of, and most importantly that my son was in good hands.
We unexpectedly were admitted with my not even 2-week-old son to have surgery for an inguinal hernia. I had just spent 5 days in the hospital at MoBap for my c section and the last thing I wanted to do was be back in a hospital, especially for my newborn to have surgery. Kassandra Pratt was absolutely wonderful. She went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable, well taken care of, and most importantly that my son was in good hands. Her bedside manner was so friendly and kind. She would come in and talk to me as if we had been friends for years. Although serious, she made me feel like the surgery was just going to be ok, I had nothing to worry about. I really didn’t even have a chance, with her around, to overthink it or get caught up in sadness as my newborn was going under for a surgery. I cannot express how grateful I was to have her around for 2 of the 3 days I was there. She took the extra time to actually care. I hope new nurses will learn from her. I will forever be grateful to the entire floor 10 nursing staff. They really made my stay enjoyable under the circumstances. I expected to be treated like another patient's concerned parent and they all made me feel like I was family and that they were there for me.
