Dania is a true nursing advocate and will drive change for the best of the teams and our patients on a daily basis.
Dania Block focuses on creating an environment of trust and transparency. She treats everyone with respect and embodies HRO principles. She is accessible and available, and she is always willing to throw on scrubs or roll up her sleeves to help not only her teams but all of the teams in the organization.
She has worked night shifts so that HCU could stay open, manned the CTU when needed and stepped in as interim director for Women's and children when it was needed on top of her normal workload. She is a problem-solver but asks that her staff use critical thinking to find a solution on their own and she will help them to remove barriers if and when needed.
She is a true nursing advocate and will drive change for the best of the teams and our patients on a daily basis. She reports to PSL and various other councils on behalf of and in partnership with her teams to keep them and the organization apprised of the need to achieve all our goals.
She is one of the most compassionate leaders I have ever had, when I needed coaching on how to have a critical conversation with another leader, she was willing to take the time to help walk me through the steps and to role play having that conversation.
Her whole focus was on helping me grow in my professional skills to be not just a better employee but a better person.

She is effective, courageous, and has impacted insurmountable change in this organization. When the organization needed an Interim Director of Women’s and Children’s, Dania took this one until a permanent director was found, working hard to make sure every service line was directed and cared for.

She steps in to assist when needed and has shown this by working in units she didn’t have any experience with during COVID, making sure that employees are celebrated by asking her team members to work with her and step-up during Nurses Week.
She makes herself available, she gives solid advice and direction, and all while being very kind. She gives praise and thanks to others. She looks to support her team in any way she can and is the obvious choice for this award.
