I was admitted to 4G from ER. Hector Jarquin politely introduced himself and helped me get comfortable in bed although he was not my primary/admitting nurse and said that my nurse will be in to see me in a few minutes. He’s caring and so professional. I got so lucky since he was my morning nurse for 2 days. He was attentive to my needs. He came and checked on me very often and asked how I was doing and if there’s anything he can do to make me feel better. He explained all procedures, and medicines were on time, he even explained what they are for and the side effects. He did everything right. I didn’t tell him that I am a nurse because I wanted him to treat me as a patient and he did. Hector is an asset to Northridge Hospital. He exemplifies Human Kindness. Any patients in his care will surely feel confident in getting the best care. He has a good relationship with other staff. As a young nurse he is, he has the ability to inspire others and give positive professional influence to them. I am so proud to have met this nurse. He promotes safety and gives excellent customer service. He is a good patient advocate and went beyond his duty. I requested a CD of my angiogram and he called the department and picked it up personally for me, so that I didn’t have to come back and made it easier for me. That was beyond my expectation of a great advocate.
