I went into preterm labor at 19 weeks. My nurse Christy Wade came in on my second round of nurses, but she definitely helped me out the most. I knew my baby wasn’t going to make it, I knew my baby would be born sleeping. When I gave birth, Christy helped me out and she made sure I was aware this was not my fault. She gave me the most incredible care and compassion I’ve ever received. After I had my baby and they cleaned him up, Christy came to speak to me and she told me she wanted to take some pictures for me to remember my baby. She had her husband bring her professional camera and went to work taking pictures I will forever be thankful for and never forget. She put them on a flash drive and gave me everything the pictures were on as she reminded me to keep this safe because after a few minutes everything would be erased, and I would have the only copies of these pictures to exist. I will forever remember Mrs. Wade and the extra mile she went above and beyond in my husband and I’s worst time. This was a couple years ago but I have those pictures printed out & I still think about her from time to time and wish I could’ve done more to thank her.
