Vinay made me feel like I was a real person, an individual, and not just another number.
When I was admitted to the hospital from the emergency room, I was extremely upset. I've had multiple lengthy hospital stays in the past and was anxious and afraid about being admitted. From the moment I came onto the floor, Vinay went out of his way to make me feel safe and comfortable. He saw that I was upset and having anxiety and took his time to help me feel safe. He listened to my concerns with care and compassion. Oftentimes, in a hospital setting, one can feel like they are just another patient. However, Vinay made me feel like I was a real person, an individual, and not just another number. He never seemed to be in a hurry, like he was trying to finish up and get out of the room. He was my nurse for six nights, and his time went on I was not anxious going into the evenings. I knew what to come to expect, and that it was going to be OK. This is important when anyone has a stay in the hospital. They are out of their element and away from everything that they know and love. Having a nurse who takes the time and has the compassion to make your stay a little more comfortable can mean the world. In case Vinay gets to read this, I would like to say thank you for showing me the care and compassion that you did. Thank you for understanding my fears and anxiety and working with me to make this a positive experience instead of ones that I have had in the past. The world needs more nurses such as you. Thank you again.
