Ember epitomizes what it means to be a nurse. It is abundantly clear that she was born to be a medical professional.
This nurse has been a godsend! She is so caring and shows a great deal of compassion for her patients. I came in through the ED in excruciating pain due to my "DX." The pain management is/has been ridiculously difficult to handle, but the nurse came in straight away asking/looking for what she could/can do provide for me. The nurse is always asking F/U questions, as well as asking for updates almost hourly with regard to my "acute" pain (the reason why I came for treatment) in addition to my chronic/painful medical conditions. She is consistently updating my chart and sent messages to the Pharmacy on my behalf when I was concerned that a new med was made with a "cousin" of latex as I am allergic. She messaged the on-call doctor on my behalf to check my concerns and my current condition as I woke up abruptly with fierce pain (migraine) and I was shaking from being so cold like "chilled to the bone" cold. She took my temperature, and when it came in "normal," w/out hesitation, she ran and grabbed blankets. The nurse made and continues to make sure I, along with everyone else, am as content and comfortable as possible. She is always smiling (I think) under her mask. She's unbelievably kind/caring. The nurse has been incredible in making me feel "safe" and well cared for, and I can ask/request anything to pass the time. She helped to seek approval for my difficult diet as I was/am not able to eat off a clear liquid diet when I was removed from NPO as I have allergies to red dye and MSG. Overall, the nurse is a complete gem, and I couldn't be more grateful and blessed to have her during this challenging time/hospital stay. Ember epitomizes what it means to be a nurse. It is abundantly clear that she was born to be a medical professional. She really engages with me. Just today, she listened, and more importantly, she made me "feel" heard with regard to both my medical and personal situations. Kadlec is lucky to employ her. I hope she is made to feel special and appreciated. Thank you!
