I've had a very difficult time with my health over the past several months. Recently I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Then in February I wound up in the ER, thinking I was having a Crohn's flare, only to discover I was trying to pass a 6.8 mm stone. I spent the night in the hospital and was released, only to be readmitted 2 more times over the next couple of weeks. On all 3 visits to the hospital, I was amazed at how caring and conscientious every hospital employee was. But there was one nurse who I was particularly impressed with, her name is Venita Deavers. She was so sweet and compassionate. She not only made me feel like she really cared about my welfare but she also put me at ease. She assured me that she was going to do her very best to take good care of me. Venita reminded me of a nurse I had when I gave birth to my first child. It's been over 45 years and I still think of that nurse from time to time. I think I will remember Venita in much the same way. She was a blessing at a time when I really needed it.
