During my husband’s open heart surgical stay, Shannon was his nurse the first night. Things were so scary! All the tubes, lights, bags, pumps, machines, sounds blinking lights, etc. She assured me that all of this was normal and he was very stable. After 18 ½ hours in the waiting room and recovery, my exhaustion was calmed by her competence and attention to detail. The quagmire of tubes and hoses was absolutely mind-boggling to me; she knew exactly what she was doing. She never left his room all night. Her attention to detail was over the top. The first 48 hours were horrible for us, but she managed his care, and the rest of his stay was an improvement every day.
