When we thought about our family growing with 2 little girls, we had no idea we'd gain a few nurses as family too. Our girls were born early and required time in the NICU. We often found ourselves looking for a light. That light came from one of our nurses who was often caring for one of our girls, if not both. Amy Copley was our light when we needed it most. Every day she was working, she'd provide thorough updates with any progress the girls made, how they did overnight, and what they would be working on that day. She did a great job of explaining to us what was happening in a way that we could understand. When we ran into a roadblock with one of our girls struggling to eat, she provided options for us to try that made eating easier for our girl. The support she provided allowed us to bring our girls home on the same day. Amy did small things like decorated our girls' bassinets and added their photos to their Atrium account. She cared for us in addition to our girls. She even celebrated our girls' milestones with us. Amy made us trust that the entire staff would care for our girls as their own. She is absolutely, without a doubt, the kind of nurse that makes a difference for families at Pineville Maternity Center. She makes the entire experience for families that pass through the NICU doors and brings joy to them on their toughest days. We will always look back and remember the care Amy provided our entire family.
