Nurse Carrie is nothing short of an angel in scrubs and I am truly honored to share our story about how she permanently impacted our lives during one of the most vulnerable moments we've ever experienced. Her dedication to our wellbeing and, more importantly, our newborn baby's well-being went far beyond the call of duty, and we believe she is a true DAISY Nurse. 

Our journey began with the birth of our precious baby a moment filled with immeasurable joy, but also tinged with worry as our little one struggled to latch and began losing weight. The weight of uncertainty and helplessness loomed over us, and we desperately needed guidance. That's when Nurse Carrie entered our lives and helped us through this unforeseen obstacle.

Over the course of two challenging days, Carrie tirelessly worked with us, pouring her heart and soul into helping us nourish our baby. We were beyond exhausted and inexperienced. Her patience was unwavering as she spent hours by our side, offering her expertise and a comforting presence that eased our fears.

The defining moment came when Carrie expressed colostrum from me and gave it to our hungry baby. It was a profound moment of transformation as we watched our little one finally find nourishment and comfort. My husband couldn't contain his emotions any longer and hugged her with tear-filled eyes as he needed this angel to know how she enabled his daughter to have nourishment at this most vulnerable time.

Carrie's actions transcended the realm of nursing. They embodied compassion, selflessness, and an unshakable commitment to her patients' well-being. She took us under her wing and guided us through a daunting journey with unwavering support.

This remarkable nurse exemplifies everything the DAISY Award represents. Her exceptional care, empathy and dedication to her patients should be celebrated and recognized. She was made an lasting impact in our lives and we are forever grateful for her exceptional nursing during our most challenging moments. Nurse Carrie is a shinning star in the world of healthcare.
