He had thoroughness in work and did the best he could for patients until they could return home satisfactorily.
Yennis Jullaphan is a level 1 registered nurse from ICU-1 who is compassionate, kind-hearted, constantly developing and learning new things. He has learned to take care of many types of ICU patients, including open heart surgery, which is an advanced form of patient care. Yennis volunteered to work at the ICU in one of our hospitals in the network. He was able to lead the team to provide admirable patient care. He had thoroughness in work and did the best he could for patients until they could return home satisfactorily. As a result, he received praise from the patients and their families. One situation that demonstrates Yennis’s skill is a pediatric patient who needed to be hospitalized. The family chose to receive treatment at this hospital even though their house was far away. This was in part because they wanted Yennis to be his nurse in charge. This made Yennis more confident about the nursing services provided to patients and families.

Yennis also demonstrates nursing knowledge and skills while caring for a patient after surgery whose breathing appeared to be labored and trembling. Yennis listened to his lungs and found he was wheezing. He reported to the doctor and offered his opinion on the inhaler, Chest X-Ray and pethidine. The patient eventually improved and was able to be transferred to the ward the next day. Doctors praised and commended the talent of Yennis.

Yennis mingled with the team and learned about hospital procedures, policies, rules and regulation. Ultimately, he gained the trust of and became part of the ICU team. He helped develop operational systems for the team, such as modeling ICU nursing as a "Total Care System," delivering efficient shift changes, transferring patients to the ward; referring patients to higher medical facilities, and developing CQI projects.
