I was admitted for hypoglycemia for four nights; during my stay, Mary was one of my nurses. I’m not kidding when I say it was only seconds with Mary treating me, and we were both enjoying well-needed laughter! Talk about the best medicine! Mary definitely knows her job inside and out, always had the answers to my questions with explaining in detail the “why,” which is such a beautiful thing to do (it’s pretty rare in my experiences), and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed always with a smile on her face! Mary would be amazing at training incoming nurses. The charge nurse stopped by my room, and I expressed to her how comfortable she made me feel, how incredibly sweet she is, and my favorite nurse! It’s evident that Mary loves her career; she is definitely a people person with a fantastic bedside manner. Making me feel at ease was the highlight of what was a scary hospital stay for me, being a type 1 diabetic and a three-time Stroke Survivor. When you have a nurse like Mary, who is clearly the whole package, it will really make anyone’s hospital stay a bit brighter during what could be a very scary and unnerving experience. Mary deserves this! Thank you for taking the time to listen to my story, and please consider her as she is someone that I literally will never forget, and that is really saying something!!
