Jose was very attentive and eager to help us both. Whenever we had questions, he would chase down the answer if he didn’t know.
Jose Bonilla on the second floor South at Willamette Valley Medical Center, was my husband’s nurse during his two-day stay for heart issues in January. Jose was always there for both of us. I was very stressed because my husband had collapsed while we were walking our dog. Boom! He was down and unconscious. He was taken by ambulance to the ER, where they determined more tests were needed, so he was admitted to the hospital.
Jose was very attentive and eager to help us both. Whenever we had questions, he would chase down the answer if he didn’t know. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. For example, he was about to give my husband his Blood Pressure medication and was taking his blood pressure beforehand. He stopped what he was doing and told us a story. He said that earlier in his nursing career, he had been taking care of a lady whose blood pressure was consistently high when he took it. He was about to give her medication to lower her Blood pressure but he decided to check it one more time. For some reason, he Blood pressure had plummeted. Had he given her the medication, it may have killed her. That was a simple story but very meaningful and showed Jose’s desire to help his patients.
This is just one example of his attentiveness, thoroughness, and compassion. He made my husband's hospital stay the best experience it could possibly be. We are grateful for our experience with Jose!
