I truly feel that Yoshua is deserving of recognition for the compassionate care and emotional connection that he made with my mom.
My mom, age 94 contracted covid and was sent to Holy Name Hospital for her low oxygen levels and covid symptoms. I visited her a few times and then when I couldn't make it, I would call the nurses station in the morning and in the evening to check on my mom's status. Yoshua Nunez was her night nurse for a couple of days. When I called around 8 pm, he remembered I had called last night. He had told me that she was stable and what they had tried to do during the day to help her feel better. Then the head nurse called me at 9:15pm saying that my mom was going into respiratory failure. When we got to the hospital, she had already passed away by about 15 minutes. I spoke to Yoshua, the nurse on duty and he explained to me that he held my mom's hand while she was going into respiratory failure. He also gave me a big hug while my husband and I were leaving the hospital. Yoshua told me he was playing music for her when he was taking care of her during the week. I truly feel that Yoshua is deserving of recognition for the compassionate care and emotional connection that he made with my mom. I was so comforted knowing that my mom was not alone during her final moments.
