I met Vicki Geving on my first visit with my doctor who gave me my Cancer Treatment Plan. Vicki was very helpful in assisting me to understand all the items involved in my plan. Working with Vicki G. throughout my treatment Plan can be described as someone who totally cares about me! A few days ago I called Vicki to ask about some issues I was having with my Chemotherapy. After telling Vicki about my arm problems, she immediately suspected a possible blood clot and consulted with my doctor, who ordered an ultrasound, and it was indeed a blood clot. I was sent to the ER, started my blood clot treatment plan and was admitted to the hospital and then released home prescribed with injections to take at home. Vicki caught this serious issue and saved my life! I thank her deeply. Prior to this serious issue, Vicki has always displayed these wonderful characteristics: attentiveness, great listener, always makes me feel safe, acknowledges my feelings, excellent care, calm, knowledgeable- she knows her stuff! Knows me as the patient, informative, always there, gives great advice, takes time to care for my emotional needs; always has positive words to encourage me that everything will be okay. Has excellent suggestions to make me do things that make me happy. Comforting, provides information so I can make an informed decision, outstanding and compassionate. Trusting, with huge respect, patience, takes time to think about what I have been going through; empathy. Makes me feel like I am her only patient, So with all these exceptional wonderful characteristics and my recent issue, Nurse Vicki G. from the Cancer Center is my lifesaver, and an outstanding Nurse. Thank you, Vicki, for everything you do for me!
