Fallan was the primary nurse, alongside another nurse, who was in training, cared for my severely ill mother-in-law, J. J was transferred right about shift change from a rapid response call on a med surge floor and sent to the MSICU. Fallan faced the multitude of questions I had with honesty and grace. Fallan continued to advocate for J deteriorating status with the members of her team and the doctor. Her bedside nursing skills and management of extremely complicated lines and drips were comforting to her family. She pushed for imaging to take place more urgently based on her intuition. Fallan maintained a professional and calming demeanor throughout the chaos of a very long, emotionally taxing day.  While J ultimately succumbed to her complications after Fallan’s shift was over, the impact Fallan had on her and her family will never be forgotten. Fallan is an asset to the MSICU, her co-workers, and a gift to humanity.
