From the minute I met her in week one of coming to Piedmont, she has been there for me, checked in on me, and mentored me. Amalia is always asking how we're doing and genuinely cares about our well-being. During the seminars, she teaches us, engages us, and is always stressing about taking care of ourselves and ensuring our wellness is a priority. She is not only an educator but a mentor, friend, and the only person in leadership that I trust. She continues to check on me, and that says a lot about the person she is. I don't know of anyone that deserves this award more than her. You can ask any one of her nurse residents how much we appreciate her.
