Nathan Humphreys-Loving is a prime example of a nurse that goes above and beyond for both his patients and his colleagues each and every day. Nate never hesitates to educate, advocate, and provide the very best care possible for his patients. Time and time again, Nate has worked to provide quality improvement to his unit and organization as well. In this specific instance, Nate was monitoring telemetry in the ICU because of his attention to detail, he noticed a very subtle change in the patient's telemetry, prompting him to check on a patient on the Med/Surg unit. As a result, the patient was discovered to be severely hypoxic and in respiratory distress. Because of Nate's drive to ensure patient safety, a Rapid Response was called and this patient received prompt care to prevent further deterioration. Nate then proceeded to assist the primary nurse and ensure the proper resources were called. In addition, Nate then became this patient's primary nurse as they were transferred to the ICU. This is but one example of how exceptional of a nurse Nate is and how his actions continue to positively impact both his patients and colleagues.
