My mom was being released and I was on my way to get her. When I arrived, she was being well taken care of. It was almost as if 2 friends were having lunch. It was after lunch, and mom didn’t get to eat before being released, and Katie Dunigan went to the cafeteria to get her something to eat. When I arrived, they were both enjoying lunch together. Even though mom wasn’t feeling 100%, it helped to get her mind off of things for a few minutes and enjoy a pleasant conversation. Katie was so kind to get her lunch, and just take time to talk to her. She could have been working at her desk or taking lunch alone later. But she did not. She cared for a dear lady who enjoyed the company, laughter, and food in the moment that it was needed. Thank you, Katie, for your kind heart and caring for my mom in the best possible way that day.
