My wife was dealing with severe pain when we came in. Alison Downs was the nurse on staff that took care of my wife.

She was compassionate and gentle in her approach. We definitely felt love in her care. She was a very good communicator and let us know each step she was taking so we understood what was coming next.

She found a way to quickly connect with us to make our experience more relational instead of transactional. This makes for a much more relaxing environment when there is pain. Changing the focus was a good plan.

She was sympathetic with my wife when caring for her pain. Unfortunately, the pain was caused by something that can’t be treated with anything except time.

As we were leaving, she noticed my wife’s tears because the pain was still excruciating. She did not feel comfortable with this and became an advocate for us to go back to see if anything was prescribed to my wife to help her get through this.

She went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we left better than we came in.
