Ethan not only responded quickly to her mother’s reaction, but effectively calmed both her and her mother.
I have seen and heard multiple instances of feedback regarding Ethan Miller’s kind and caring manner with our patients. In one instance, I heard from the family member of his patient who had an adverse reaction to a medication. The patient’s daughter shared that Ethan not only responded quickly to her mother’s reaction, but effectively calmed both her and her mother. He was kind, communicative and attentive. She mentioned how he continued to reassess her mother and how she felt comfortable in leaving her mother in his care when she left to go home.
He recently had an Above and Beyond submission by the nurse who had made a follow-up phone call to a discharged patient. The patient reported that she had been in the ED for a while prior to admission to the floor and when she arrived on the floor, she was cold, hungry, and scared. She had been told she might be having a stroke. She reported that Ethan gave her a warm blanket, something to eat, and spent a long time with her explaining things and answering her questions. She stated that Ethan continued to check on her through the night and made her feel safe and cared for.
Ethan needs to know that he makes a difference in the lives of the patients and families he cares for. There is no one more deserving of recognition. Thank you, Ethan.
