We would like to thank the nurses of the pediatric ward for being so dedicated to their work. In particular, we want to thank Dorothy Rabino for her exceptional nursing skills and kindness to our kids. She has a very calm presence and caring attitude. She took her time in explaining the procedures to my very curious and inquisitive 7-year-old and also interacted with our toddler through play. But what was simple play to us was her performing her nursing assessment to them. While chatting with our baby, she was able to pick up on the puffiness around his eyes and asked if he cried, to which I replied that he slept well the entire night and did not cry. She reported her findings to the doctor and advocated to decrease the IV fluid rate intended for his rehydration because it might be leading to fluid overload, and it was decreased. Her kind and gentle manner, quick eyes, and firm voice for her patient made it truly a world class nursing experience.
