I was admitted into the hospital around 8 pm and delivered my son the next day at 4:23 pm. It was a long and tiring but rewarding experience. Nicole wasn’t my assigned nurse but she was so helpful. She came in when I started pushing and helped me through the whole thing. I had a lot of back pain and the previous nurse wouldn’t let me leave the bed most of the morning and afternoon. When it was time to push it felt better to stand and squat. Nicole was squatting almost the entire 1.5 hours I was pushing. She explained to me how to push effectively and gave me advice to open my pelvis more but waited for me to get more comfortable to move. She cleaned me up and really encouraged me! After my son was born, Nicole was very attentive to me and my son. She let me bond and helped me get cleaned up when I felt comfortable. She was very sweet and gentle. She explained to me what to do while recovering and helped me move to the postpartum room. She made sure I had all the supplies I needed and even got me juice. She really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and heard throughout my hospital stay. Nicole had the perfect mix of giving advice and listening to what I wanted. I am very thankful for her!
