My father moved on while in the MICU. All the staff there—nurses, doctors, housekeeping, etc.—treated him with kindness and caring every step of the way. In particular, Sarah Paranich stood out, and I wanted to make sure that she was recognized for her amazing job. We have a beautiful dog that my dad loved very much. Strangely enough, Sarah had the same breed as ours (it's not very common), and we talked a lot about them. When we knew that my dad wouldn't be coming home, Sarah went above and beyond to get the hospital to approve my bringing our dog to visit him. He was overjoyed, and I truly believe that this kind gesture gave my dad more comfort in his last few days.
