I would like to take a couple of minutes to acknowledge the awesome work that one of your nurses, Marjierie from 4 North, has done. I was assigned to bed 15 on 3 West last week. I needed a REMICADE infusion before being discharged. I didn’t think that the infusion would ever happen because there was a slight confusion the night before. I was very surprised when I heard that a nurse would be coming to stay with me after her shift to ensure that I received the infusion. Most people would just want to go home after their shift and not have to deal with traffic. I’ve been coming to this VA since November 2014. I’ve heard the staff say so many times that they are here for the veterans and at times it’s just words. However, when Nurse Marjierie says it, she definitely means it. This last stay in the hospital took a toll on me both mentally as well as physically. I want you to know that Nurse Marjierie being there for me was very uplifting. I appreciate how dedicated she is. She was very polite and professional. She has excellent communication skills, and she shows that she cares. You never know what others are going through. I pray that there are more nurses like her working at this VA. She’s definitely an asset to THIS hospital. Please take a minute to give Nurse Marjierie her flowers on my behalf.
