Nate took care of me on two different ER visits. On the first visit, I was in extreme pain due to the bumper on my PEG feeding tube. While the physician was investigating the cause of my pain, Nate made sure I was kept comfortable and was very attentive, gentle, and compassionate. He worked well with the ER doctor as a team. He made a very stressful situation much easier to deal with. His care and manner were very calming. Ultimately, it was discovered that the bumper on my feeding tube was way too tight. He was very gentle when he eased up the bumper according to the physician's instructions. All the while he kept talking to me to keep me distracted. I felt his care was beyond exceptional! He definitely went the extra mile to make sure that I was well cared for.

He was also my nurse on another occasion when my O2 saturation kept dropping. Again, he took very good care of me and kept me well-informed of what was going on. I have a great sense of humor and love to joke, even in difficult situations. He also has a great sense of humor and that lightened the seriousness of the situation. However, I got the distinct feeling that he was very sensitive to whether or not it was appropriate to joke with a patient during a certain situation. And I got the feeling that he knew which patients he could joke with and which patients or situations were not appropriate. I’m not sure if I’m making myself clear or not about what I am trying to express about Nate’s exceptional care. I have a difficult time putting my thoughts into words to fully explain each situation and how much his good care meant to me. I have a great sense of humor and have a tendency to joke, especially when I am under a lot of stress/pain. Nate would also joke with me, and that definitely eased the tension considerably. I feel that he was very sensitive to that and to each individual patient's needs. I’m not sure if I’m making myself clear or not. What I can say is that I have a number of health issues and have been taken care of by many nurses and medical assistants. And Nate is exceptional! He is one who stands out among the many many I have had experiences with as being a truly exceptional nurse. I honestly don’t feel like I’ve been able to express the entire story.
