Dr. Embree’s unwavering support, kindness, thoughtfulness, and inspiration have made her the most incredible role model a student could ask for.
I am thrilled to nominate Dr. Jen Embree, as she epitomizes the qualities of an outstanding nurse, leader, and mentor. Dr. Embree’s unwavering support, kindness, thoughtfulness, and inspiration have made her the most incredible role model a student could ask for.
Her vast experience and varying roles, along with her unique ability to share insights into our profession, have not only deepened my understanding of what it means to be a nurse leader but also motivated me to strive for excellence. Dr. Embree has a remarkable talent for meeting people where they are and creating an inclusive and supportive environment that fosters growth and development.
Personally, I lacked confidence and believed my ideas were too unconventional until Dr. Embree firmly believed in me. She not only provided opportunities for me to learn but also encouraged me to share my passion for leading nurses with others. Her mentorship has been transformative, instilling confidence in my abilities and empowering me to make a meaningful impact.
In her role as Chief Wellness Officer, Dr. Embree has not only made me proud to be a student at Indiana University School of Nursing, an institution that employs this role to support its mission. She has also demonstrated a genuine commitment to taking care of nurses, future nurses, faculty, and staff. Through her exemplary leadership, she role models self-care in the workplace, emphasizing its importance in the demanding fields of healthcare and academia. The ripple effect of her guidance is felt throughout her institutions, organizations, committees, and board appointments. Creating a culture of support, encouragement, and excellence is what Dr. Embree does, no matter the setting. It has been an absolute honor to spend my clinical hours with her this semester.
Dr. Jen Embree's contributions to the nursing profession, her role as a mentor, and her commitment to the well-being of nurses make her an exceptional candidate.
